Summary: We are seeking a Finance Operations Accounting Manager who will be responsible for the performance and management of all aspects Accounts Receivable including Cash Application, Billing, and Collections. This position will also manage the Broker Commissions and Reporting as well as the internal Sales Commission calculations. Responsibilities include timely and accurate preparation of financial operations accounting and reporting to support the financial close and monthly client and internal reporting. This position is responsible for leadership, talent development, operational execution, and management of a team of approximately five accountants/specialists. This person will also work in a cross-matrix environment with the Controller\'s Group, Treasury and Account managers. The manager will also contribute and lead ongoing finance operations projects for the conversion from legacy systems to a single policy benefit system, and identify/ execute on opportunities for process improvement within the department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coaches, mentors, and develops team members in the timely and ccurate completion of assigned responsibilities.

  • Encourages staff to identify process and service improvements.
  • Responsible for ongoing performance feedback (establishing goals, monitoring performance, completing reviews)
  • Identifies growth opportunities and challenging assignments to further develop key talent.

  • Must be capable of operating in a fast-paced and transformational environment.
  • Accountable for results and drive a performance-based culture of accountability for your team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monthly system close for Accounts Receivable currently housed in MAS 100 and Cadence
  • Timely close reporting to support the monthly accounting close and client reporting
  • Manage the monthly AR estimate for self-billed programs and clients
  • Development of daily cash application rhythm ensuring proper support for application and timely batch posting
  • Manage monthly billing and support billing inquiries.
  • Responsible for development and management of pro-active accounts receivable collections collaborating with Account Managers as needed.
  • Monthly analysis and reporting of Accounts Receivable Aging
  • Oversee calculation of sales commissions
  • Manage broker commission calculations and reporting
  • Support various client audit requests and the annual audit as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, drive efficiencies and challenge the status-quo
  • Create and maintain strong financial processes, procedures, and internal controls addressing any identified gaps.
  • Effectively interact with other departments and corporate areas in the completion of initiatives and projects.
  • Management of staff to ensure timely completion of numerous quarterly and annual state compliance filings.
  • Work with the Treasury Manager as needed on cash management initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required; CPA/MBA desired.
  • 7+ years of Accounts Receivable Billing & Collections experience required. Assistant Corporate Controller experience a plus.
  • 2+ years of Benefits and/or Claims Management systems along with related G/L systems required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel; such as pivot tables, charts, graphs, formula creation, and creating drop downs required.
  • Ability to identify and execute on process improvement opportunities and provide support cross functionally, enterprise-wide required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using sound judgement and delivering information through proper and appropriate communication channels required.
  • Sage MAS 100 and Workday G/L experience, a plus.
  • Solid comprehension of and experience with GAAP and statutory accounting principles a plus.
  • Knowledge of management principles and insurance industry products, services, and processes
FLSA & Benefits

FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt
Salary Range: $99,340 - $155,370
