Job summary

Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. in Virginia seeks a Finance Officer to manage accounting operations, payroll, grants, and financial reporting.

You will record receipts and disbursements, support budgets, and assist with audits and grant applications, partnering with the CFO and CEO to maintain sound fiscal practices. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, 2–4 years of accounting experience, and strong skills in data analysis and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Analytical thinking and ability to analyze data.
• Knowledge of non-profit accounting and/or governmental accounting preferred.
• Grant administration accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to prepare and analyze financial reports and communicate effectively with the public, funding sources, and other departments within the agency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be able to pass criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Agency’s financial reports for funding agencies.
• Prepare and submit payroll tax reports.
• Review payroll preparation and processing.
• Assist in preparing the Agency’s annual budget in coordination with CFO and CEO.
• Assist with Agency’s annual audit to ensure the audit is completed timely.
• Assist directors and managers with preparation of grant application and funding requests.
• Participates in fiscal management training and related topics in order to maintain high standards in fiscal operations.

Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. (TCCAA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated for over 50 years to making a positive difference in the lives of those experiencing hardships. The agency consists of multiple programs that are created to empower people in Halifax, Charlotte and Mecklenburg Counties of Southside Virginia. What We Are Looking For:

The Finance Officer, under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Agency’s financial operations, including grant administration, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions. The Finance Officer will perform accounting duties such as recording receipts and disbursement for financial transactions on the general ledger, generating financial reports on a timely basis and maintaining sound accounting records.

What You Will Do:

• Responsible for preparation of the Agency financial reports in a timely manner for funding agencies.
