Position Summary

We are looking for an analytical and strategic Finance Manager to join our consulting team, supporting small business clients in achieving sustainable financial growth and enhancing their enterprise value. This role is pivotal in helping clients establish sound financial practices, improve reporting accuracy, and make data-informed decisions that drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a financial advisor to small business clients, analyzing financial health and identifying key drivers for profitability and value creation.
• Oversee and support the development of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management frameworks for clients.
• Oversee and manage the entire department, including accounting team
• Conduct financial statement analysis, profitability assessments, and cost structure evaluations.
• Oversee the month-end close process: reviewing bookkeeping entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing management reports.
• Implement financial systems, tools, and dashboards to improve visibility into business performance and support strategic planning.
• Collaborate with clients to develop KPIs and reporting mechanisms that align with their growth and valuation goals.
• Provide guidance on capital structure, funding strategies, and investment decisions to optimize long-term value.
• Assist clients in preparing financial documentation for investors, lenders, or exit readiness.
• Oversee compliance standards including but not limited to: accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
• Present financial insights and recommendations to client stakeholders, including executive teams and boards of directors.
• Exceptional communication and client management skills with a consultative, problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in financial management, consulting, or advisory roles—ideally working with small businesses.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting software, and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite).
• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, cash flow analysis, and forecasting methodologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data.
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
• Must be a self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to build trusted client relationships and influence strategic financial decisions.
• Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and execute deliverables on time and within budget.
• Experience with leading teams to drive results
• Ability to work outside of standard business hours as clients are across all time zones.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience in a consulting environment or advising high-growth small to mid-sized businesses.
• Familiarity with valuation principles and financial metrics that impact enterprise value.
• Understanding of industry-specific financial practices (e.g., service-based, retail, manufacturing).
