Who are Pliant

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Finance Manager – US (m/f/d) to help build and lead the financial foundation of our U.S. operations. This role is critical to ensuring Pliant’s financial processes, reporting, and compliance scale efficiently with our international expansion.

You’ll be responsible for managing financial operations in the U.S., supporting strategic decision-making, and working closely with our global finance team and external partners.

This role is remote-friendly, ideally based in the US, with occasional travel to Berlin or partner locations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Finance Operations: Manage U.S. day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, accounts payable/receivable, cash flow, payroll coordination, and tax compliance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support financial planning and analysis for U.S. revenue and cost centers. Track actuals vs. forecast and provide strategic insights.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure regulatory and tax compliance with U.S. GAAP and local requirements. Partner with external accountants and legal advisors.
  • Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports and dashboards for leadership, aligning U.S. reporting with global finance structures.
  • Process Optimization: Help scale and automate financial processes to support fast growth, leveraging tools like NetSuite, Excel/Google Sheets, etc.
  • Stakeholder Support: Partner with Sales, RevOps, and Leadership on pricing models, contract review, and strategic initiatives.
  • Audit & Risk: Support financial audits, risk assessments, and due diligence processes as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 4–6 years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, preferably in high-growth tech or fintech environments.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial operations, and compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and building financial reports and models.
  • Proven ability to manage external stakeholders (accountants, payroll, tax) and work across time zones.
  • Familiarity with financial tools and systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, DATEV, or similar).
  • Attention to detail, analytical mindset, and comfort with ambiguity in a scaling organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CFA a plus.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required
