Job summary

Wilson-McShane Corporation, a third party administrator for Taft-Hartley funds, seeks a full-time Finance Manager in our Kansas City, MO office. The role leads accounting operations, financial reporting, and audits, partnering with management, auditors, and Trustees to ensure accurate reporting and strong controls.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of building a high-performing team with clear expectations, coaching, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience including financial reporting and audit support.
• Minimum 3 years leading, supervising, and developing accounting or finance staff.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement packages.
• Experience with Taft-Hartley fund accounting preferred; MIP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day Finance department operations.
• Review transactions, GL activity, and supporting docs for accuracy.
• Lead month-end and year-end closes and reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate external fund audits (DOL, IRS, annual audits).
• Develop staff, implement accounting policies, and improve internal controls.
• Resolve accounting questions and audit inquiries with stakeholders.
