Job description

Finance Manager, Global Procurement Finance

Job ID: 10529132 | Amazon.com Services LLC

Global Procurement Organization Finance is seeking a Finance Manager to assist business leaders owning $6B of spend drive strategic negotiations and deliver cost savings to Amazon Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a results-driven business team, strengthening their negotiation leverage through data-driven insights that influence vendor selection and contract terms. This role requires the Finance Manager to think long-term and scale impact—identifying additional spend categories for the business team to manage and delivering financial analyses that provide leverage during high-stakes negotiations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical capabilities, financial expertise, and independent judgment, with the ability to solve complex problems and communicate findings clearly as topic complexity increases. You will drive process improvements across teams and organizations, serve as a subject matter expert for a Procurement Category team, and provide strategic recommendations that challenge business partner assumptions. You will navigate across organizations to identify stakeholders and align on strategic goals, make judgment calls on trade-offs between short and long-term needs, and mentor junior analysts to develop their technical and business skills.

Global Procurement Organization Finance provides opportunities to lead strategic initiatives while building deep expertise in business finance. The role offers exposure to complex business challenges, the chance to influence important team goals and contribute to strategic long-term objectives that shape the future of Operations’ procurement organization.

Key job responsibilities

  • Challenge business partner assumptions during negotiations and throughout the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, providing disruptive ideas and strategic analyses that strengthen vendor selection and contract terms
  • Design and execute complex financial analyses that deliver negotiation leverage, illuminating cost drivers and trade-offs that influence procurement decisions
  • Lead strategic business reviews with senior leaders, fostering constructive dialogue and driving alignment on procurement strategies
  • Solve complex problems independently, making judgment calls on escalation and designing solutions that balance short-term and long-term needs
  • Drive large-scale process improvements and continuous improvement projects from start to finish, identifying automation opportunities and managing timelines independently
  • Identify additional spend categories for business team management, thinking big to grow long-term value and expand procurement impact

A day in the life

You’ll operate as a trusted strategic partner to Category leaders managing $6B in spend, challenging assumptions during high-stakes negotiations and delivering insights that shift vendor dynamics. Your analyses will directly influence contract terms and vendor selection decisions, giving the business team leverage when it matters most. You’ll lead strategic business reviews with senior leaders, bringing clarity to complex trade-offs and driving alignment on procurement strategies that deliver long-term value. Working independently with minimal oversight, you’ll identify new spend opportunities for the business team to manage, thinking big about how to scale procurement impact across Amazon Operations. You’ll mentor junior analysts while contributing to Finance community initiatives, building expertise across the team that elevates GPO Finance’s strategic influence.
