Job description

We are looking for a Manager to join a sophisticated investment strategy within a leading global alternative investment platform. The team invests across complex credit and equity opportunities, creating an operating environment where strong controls, disciplined execution, and close coordination across functions are critical.

This is an embedded role within the investment strategy rather than a traditional corporate risk or compliance position. The Manager will take end-to-end ownership of fund audits, operational controls, custody processes, vendor oversight, business continuity, and key fund lifecycle events, including new strategy launches and wind-downs.

The role is an excellent fit for someone from alternative asset management, fund administration, operational risk, controls, audit, or a blended finance and operations background who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and independently driving important workstreams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and coordinate fund-specific audits and operational reviews, serving as the primary contact for internal teams and external auditors
  • Maintain policies, procedures, governance documentation, and fund workflow process maps
  • Coordinate new fund and strategy launches, fund wind-downs, and related operational requirements
  • Oversee custody-related processes and ensure assets are appropriately tracked and supported
  • Lead control remediation, process improvement, and workflow efficiency initiatives
  • Manage business continuity and disaster recovery documentation, testing, and follow-up
  • Oversee relationships with fund administrators, custodians, and other outsourced service providers
  • Manage vendor scorecards, issue resolution, invoice review, and selected RFP or vendor evaluation processes
  • Partner with senior leadership on special projects and evolving strategic priorities
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in operations, risk, controls, fund administration, audit, or a related role within alternative investments or financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CPA, CFA, or a similar professional qualification is a plus
  • Strong understanding of fund operations, custody processes, audits, and operational control environments
  • Experience independently managing complex, cross-functional workstreams from start to finish
  • Exposure to SOC 1, AUP, custody audits, vendor oversight, business continuity, or fund lifecycle events preferred
