Job summary

The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC is seeking a Finance Manager to act as the primary financial partner for an assigned portfolio, currently the Economic Studies program. The role features budgeting, forecasting, grant management, and decision support across Finance, Development, HR, and General Counsel.

Responsibilities include managing project expenditures, producing reports, and coordinating financial planning using Workday and Adaptive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with professional experience in finance or administration.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and grant-management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; capable of cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reports for the portfolio.
• Manage grants and project finances, ensuring adherence to terms and donor requirements.
• Coordinate with Finance, Development, HR, Legal and program leadership.
• Monitor costs, process journal entries, and ensure data integrity in Workday and Adaptive.
• Prepare budgets, reporting materials, and ad hoc analyses as needed.
• Support fundraising efforts with budgeting and funding reports.
