Job summary

The Urbana Free Library seeks a Finance Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, cash management and long-range financial planning. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and at least five years in finance, including staff supervision, in a government or nonprofit setting.

The role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with the Library Leadership Team to safeguard assets and ensure sound financial operations, with a starting salary in the posted range

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible finance experience, including three in a financial management role.
• Knowledge of automated financial, payroll, and management systems.
• Proficiency with Tyler/Munis or similar accounting software and Humanity timekeeping.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee revenue, expenditures, and fund balances for the Library’s governmental unit.
• Provide accurate financial reporting and maintain internal controls.
• Advise the Executive Director, Library Board of Trustees, and Leadership Team on fiscal policies.
• Serve as financial liaison with the Library Board and City of Urbana.
