Job summary

Novolex is seeking a senior financial analytics professional in Boulder, CO, to partner with Eco-Products and Broadline Distribution sales teams. You will drive forecasting, pricing analysis, and profitability insights across multiple channels, impacting revenue and margin decisions.

The role requires 6+ years of financial analytics experience, advanced Excel modeling, and experience with ERP and BI tools. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in finance or accounting required; MBA/CPA preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in a financial analytics role.
  • Experience supporting sales organizations, pricing strategy, customer profitability analysis, rebates, and revenue growth management preferred.
  • Strong understanding of income statement analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key finance business partner to Eco-Products and Broadline Distribution Commercial Sales team with financial insights and KPI reporting.
  • Drive commercial planning and financial forecasting/budgeting with in-month/channel forecasts.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights, scenario analyses, and performance reporting for strategic decisions.
  • Perform monthly variance analysis of volume and gross margin.
  • Create look-forward profitability models for customers for 12 months ahead.
  • Partner with IT, Sales Ops, and Finance to improve data governance and reporting accuracy.
  • Lead monthly SIP tracking, performance analysis, and reporting.
  • Support deployment and financial evaluation of growth, pricing, and profitability initiatives.
  • Own commercial P&L analytics including revenue, volume, gross margin, rebates, and customer profitability.

Job Description:

  • Serves as a key finance business partner to the Eco-Products and Broadline Distribution Commercial Sales team, providing financial insights, KPI reporting, and analytical support to achieve revenue, volume, and profitability objectives.
  • Drives the commercial planning and financial forecasting/budgeting process by developing in-month and forward channel-level forecasts by customer, factoring in variability in gross price, allowances and material costs, and presents to Business Unit/Channel management.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights, scenario analyses, and performance reporting to support strategic and operational business decisions.
  • Responsible for monthly analysis, including detailed variance analysis of volume and standard gross margin.
  • Creates and maintains a look-forward customer profitability model, which pulls data from multiple locations to efficiently calculate the forecasted profitability of a customer for the next 12 months, and factors in potential options in rebates or other items to calculate pro-forma profitability.
  • Partner with IT, Sales Operations, and Finance teams to improve data governance, reporting accuracy, and system integration across commercial processes.
  • Lead monthly Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) tracking, performance analysis, and reporting.
  • Support the deployment and financial evaluation of corporate growth, pricing, and profitability initiatives across the sales organization.
  • Own commercial P&L analytics, including revenue, volume, gross margin, trade investments, rebates, and customer profitability.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS required with emphasis in finance or accounting (MBA/CPA preferred)
  • 6+ years of experience in a financial analytical role.
  • Experience supporting sales organizations, pricing strategy, customer profitability analysis, trade spending, rebates, and revenue growth management initiatives preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of income statement analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills with an ability to anticipate the needs of the stakeholders and take quick action.
  • Experience collaborating and working successfully with stakeholders and teams, with ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills with ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with database development and reporting tools, proficiency in Microsoft Office, NetSuite, SAP, PowerBI & OneStream or other similar digital financial reporting tools experience preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills including financial modeling and data analysis.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000-$135,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
