Job summary

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) seeks a full-time Manager, Finance - Central to coordinate daily financial activities across the division(s) including accounting, budget, tax, and treasury. The role mentors staff to ensure adherence to policies and governmental rules.

You will oversee budget prep, monitor performance, translate strategy into financial plans, and lead economic evaluations of new programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Strong financial oversight and operational management skills.
• Ability to lead a cohesive team and collaborate across departments.
• Proficiency with office software and related computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the budget preparation process and monitors department performance against budget.
• Prepares and monitors staffing benchmarks.
• Translates long-range strategy into executable business cases and financial planning.
• Assists department with performing economic evaluation of new programs and equipment.
• Performs trend analyses and volume projections.
• Evaluates spending trends and develops strategies that will ensure compliance with budgets.
• Drives the strategic direction and financial long-term investment process.
• Forms and maintains effective partnerships across organizational boundaries.
• Formulates monthly and annual financial statements and ensures the filing of quarterly payroll tax returns.
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
