Manager – Accounting & Finance

Private Equity Firm | West Palm Beach, FL

About the Role

Our client is a private equity firm focused on transforming businesses through operational excellence. Portfolio Operations team partners with companies to establish strong accounting and finance infrastructures that enable growth and scalability.

We are seeking a Manager to join this team. This role is ideal for candidates coming directly from public accounting who want to transition into private equity. Over time, we aim to place these professionals into leadership roles within our portfolio companies (Controller, CFO).

Key Responsibilities

As a Manager, you will work closely with portfolio company leadership to establish and optimize accounting and finance functions. Responsibilities include:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Perform variance identification and analysis
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes

2. Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee monthly close processes and internal controls
  • Prepare for audits and assist with SOX compliance
  • Implement best practices for financial reporting

3. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Build and manage 13-week cash flow forecasts
  • Drive AR/AP automation and real-time cash reporting
  • Monitor key metrics: DSO, DPO, cash conversion cycle

4. Revenue Management & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze gross margin and EBITDA trends
  • Evaluate customer profitability and lifetime value
  • Support initiatives to improve revenue per employee

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable accounting systems and workflows
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (FP&A, operations, payroll)
  • Lead process improvement and automation projects

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
  • Experience: minimum of 5 years in public accounting (Big 4 experience highly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Ability to travel as needed to portfolio companies
