Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, accounting principles and business cash flow.
  • Desire to understand how every area of the organization functions; business curiosity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize time-sensitive projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey financial information clearly.
  • Strong work ethic, adherence to deadlines, and project planning.
  • Advanced problem-solving and financial decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software, typical accounting software, BI platforms, and internet-based tech.

Responsibilities

  • Review reporting accuracy and analyze performance including revenue, expenses, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPIs to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts supporting strategic planning and executive decisions.
  • Create and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans with business leaders.
  • Analyze results and variances to recommend actions improving profitability and efficiency.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements in GAAP and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with departments to evaluate ROI for key initiatives and investments.
  • Monitor financial performance, liquidity, and costs; provide improvement recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes, systems, and analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Finance Manager oversees financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and decision support to help Brennan make informed decisions and support continued growth. This role works closely with the CFO, accounting team, and leaders across the company to understand financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear, forward-looking insights. The Finance Manager also helps improve financial processes, systems, reporting, and analytics across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Review accuracy of reporting and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, balance sheet, cash flow, and operational metrics, to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts that support strategic planning and executive decision-making
  • Develop and manage annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans in partnership with business leaders, identifying financial risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze financial results, key performance indicators, and operational trends to identify variances and recommend actions that improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with all departments to assist in evaluating and assessing return on investment for key business initiatives, capital investments, and strategic projects.
  • Monitor organizational financial performance, including profitability, operating costs, liquidity, and other key financial metrics, providing recommendations to improve fiscal performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial reporting processes, systems, and analytics to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, and decision support across the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required or equivalent work experience
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, accounting principles and business cash flow.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to convey financial related information clearly and professionally to diverse audience

  • Sound financial decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft software, accounting software packages commonly used within medium-size organizations, business intelligence platforms and internet-based technology solutions
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and initiative to be able to work independently
  • Strong team orientation to work collaboratively with work associates to achieve departmental objectives
  • Proven record of strong attention to detail and accuracy, strong analytical skills, along with demonstrated ability adapt change
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
