Job summary

Perr&Knight in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a versatile Accounting, Bookkeeping & Payroll Manager to oversee financial and operational compliance ecosystem. This role will lead full-cycle accounting, manage payroll, track multi-year production costs, and head our annual property tax filings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Advanced knowledge of accounting/billing software, especially QuickBooks.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• CPA/tax preparation experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate balance sheets, income statements, and profitability reports.
• Prepare data for local, state, and federal tax returns and other CPA data requests.
• Oversee reconciliation of all ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, and bank statements.
• Manage the full cycle close process, including accruals, deferrals, and journal entries.
• Supervise, train, and review the work of junior bookkeepers or accounting clerks.
• Distribute direct and indirect overhead costs to specific products or departments.
• Manage full-cycle payroll processing (bi-weekly) for regular, seasonal employees using a payroll processing platform.
• Oversee the submission of payroll taxes, W-2s and 1099s.
• File accurate business property statements annually with California county assessors.
