Seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function at its high-volume manufacturing facility in Lewistown, PA.
This position will oversee financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, variance analysis, internal controls, accounts payable oversight, and process improvement. The Finance Manager will lead a team of 3 direct reports and serve as a financial business partner to Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and other departments.
This is a highly hands-on manufacturing finance role. The successful candidate must be comfortable learning manufacturing processes and spending time on the production floor to understand operations and identify financial improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 3 finance professionals.
- Prepare and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform financial and cost variance analysis and communicate findings to leadership.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements.
- Oversee Accounts Payable activities and resolve process issues.
- Review weekly payment proposals for accuracy.
- Maintain and strengthen appropriate internal controls.
- Support Operations, Procurement, Engineering, and other departments with financial guidance.
- Drive process improvements and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
- Monitor spending and communicate financial concerns to leadership.
- Own annual budgeting templates and the budget upload process.
- Support financial planning, forecasting, and business decision‑making.
- Ensure accounting practices comply with US GAAP and internal requirements.
- Partner with plant leadership to understand manufacturing processes and operational performance.
- Spend time on the production floor to understand costs, processes, and operational challenges.
- Support the financial needs of a 24/7/365 manufacturing operation.
- Coach, mentor, and develop finance team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–7+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Strong cost accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong working knowledge of SAP.
- Experience leading and developing a finance/accounting team.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Ability to analyze financial performance, costs, and variances.
- Willingness to work closely with Operations and spend time on the production floor.
- Ability to support a 24/7/365 facility.
Preferred:
- CPA, CMA, or MBA.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience with plant finance, standard costing, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Experience with automated/technology-driven manufacturing operations.
