Chief Financial Officer Group Overview:

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program (also referred to as FMAP internship) will introduce you to Bank of America and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Group. The CFO Group is responsible for the overall financial management of our company – financial and regulatory reporting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, treasury, accounting, investor relations, corporate investments, and tax.

Internship Overview:

This job is responsible for participating in the Finance Management Summer Analyst Program, a 10‑week internship experience focusing on financial and management accounting, corporate and strategic finance, and internal treasury functions within the CFO Group. Key responsibilities include participating in a variety of activities designed to foster teamwork, encourage networking, and engage with senior leadership. Job expectations include building upon your academic foundation – specifically technical skills, industry knowledge and familiarity with a corporate environment – while pursuing your career based on interests and background.

A Day in the Life:

FMAP Summer internships give the Analysts a glimpse into the overall financial management of our company, vision, and culture. The Summer Analyst will have primary responsibilities that may include but are not limited to:

  • Takes proactive approach to learning
  • Forecasts financial and non‑financial trends, develops models and performing financial analysis of business investments
  • Supports internal financial planning and management accounting functions
  • Presents financial data and analysis to business partners
  • Evaluates opportunities for process improvements across the CFO Group
  • Networks with finance executives and key stakeholders to cultivate meaningful relationships across various lines of business
Finance Management Opportunities:

The Finance Management Summer Analyst Program assigns the Analysts to a position supporting one of the teams within the CFO Group, which are listed below.

  • Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets and International Finance
  • Global Technology and Global Operations Finance
  • Regional Banking & Wealth Management Finance

Intern team assignments are developed based on business need and aligned to skillset and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications:
  • Candidates are required to be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or accelerated (4+1) degree program from an accredited college or university. Eligible candidates must have a final graduation date between November 2027 and August 2028.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Common areas of study include but are not limited to:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Economics
    • Business Administration
    • Mathematics/Statistics
    • Data Analytics
    • Information systems (w/ finance focus)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Basic financial and accounting knowledge (understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborative
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools and processes
  • Leadership experience through student organizations, internships, or projects
