Job summary

Unconventional AI in Mountain View seeks a hands-on FP&A leader to own accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while partnering with the CFO and CEO to scale the business. This role offers broad ownership across the accounting and finance stack, with opportunities to shape processes and controls as the company grows.

You will build the team, manage audits and taxes, refine the operating model, and drive finance workflows in a fast-moving, AI-first startup environment that values

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience across accounting and FP&A.
• Startup or tech company experience required.
• Strong command of US GAAP and close mechanics.
• Hands-on with an ERP and ownership of the systems stack (spend management, payroll, equity administration, close tools).
• Advanced Excel/Sheets and strong financial modelling ability.
• Clear written communication with executives and investors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Manage external audits and liaise with tax advisors to ensure timely filings.
• Own the FP&A process: budgeting, reforecasting, and monthly performance vs. budget; support board/investor reporting.
