Job summary

White Circle, an AI Safety company, is hiring a hands-on Finance Lead to own day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including reviewing expenses, invoices, and receipts, and driving financial reporting, forecasting, and cash burn tracking.

You will manage the US entity under US GAAP, coordinate with external accountants, and build financial models for strategic decisions while improving processes as we scale.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with US GAAP accounting (must-have).
• Strong accounting fundamentals and comfortable owning financial close and reporting.
• Experience in multi-entity or group company setups.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance and accounting operations across entities, focusing on US GAAP.
• Manage monthly financial close, ensuring accurate reporting and data.
• Collaborate with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and finance providers as needed.
• Build and maintain financial reporting showing revenue, expenses, cash, burn, runway and health.
• Own budgeting and forecasting processes including revenue, expenses, headcount, cash needs, runway.
• Develop financial models for hiring, spending, pricing, fundraising and strategic decisions.
• Help design and improve accounting processes as the company scales.
• Prepare analyses for investors, fundraising, board materials and due diligence.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive finance workflows and speed reporting.

TLDR: We’re looking for a hands-on Finance Lead to own day-to-day accounting and finance operations: from reviewing expenses, invoices, and receipts to financial reporting, forecasting, and cash & burn tracking.

You will:

• Own day-to-day finance and accounting operations across different entities, with a focus on the US entity and US GAAP accounting

• Own the monthly financial close and ensure our reporting and financial data are accurate and up to date

• Work with external accountants, tax advisors, auditors, and other finance providers where needed

• Build and maintain financial reporting that gives a clear view of revenue, expenses, cash, burn, runway, and overall financial health

• Own budgeting and forecasting processes, including estimating revenue, expenses, headcount, cash needs, and runway

• Build and maintain financial models to support hiring, spending, pricing, fundraising, and other strategic decisions

• Help design and improve accounting and finance processes as we scale

• Prepare financial information and analyses for investors, fundraising processes, board materials, and due diligence

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive finance workflows and improve the quality and speed of financial reporting

You’ll fit right in if you:

• You have hands-on experience with US GAAP accounting (must-have)

• You have strong accounting fundamentals and are comfortable owning the financial close and financial reporting process

• You can work independently and take ownership of the finance function without needing a large team around you

• You have experience with accounting or finance in a multi-entity or group company setup

A big plus:

• CPA qualification

• Experience with international accounting

• Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, cash flow planning, and burn/runway tracking

• Build lightweight dashboards and internal tools when needed to make financial analysis more accessible

• Comfortable building financial models from scratch and using them to answer real business questions

• Experience setting up finance and accounting processes from scratch
