Job summary

Russell Tobin is partnering with a global law firm to hire a Finance Lead in New York, NY. This senior role drives insights, cross‑functional collaboration, and strategic financial management for the FIC team, leveraging SAP Business Objects and Excel to deliver accurate analytics and timely reporting.

You will mentor others, lead long‑term projects, and develop standard reporting tools while safeguarding confidential information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of analytical experience in finance, accounting, or related professional services environment.
• Minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience demonstrating leadership through project or initiative ownership.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience mentoring, training, and coaching others within your function.

Responsibilities

• Identifying, developing, and maintaining new opportunities for the FIC team by collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging insights to enhance meaningful outcomes and cross-functional relationships
• Leveraging project management principles to manage firmwide financial projects and complete other complex financial requests needed by department management
• Applying business, economic, finance, and accounting principles to the firm's internal financial data to help firm leaders simplify and ultimately solve complex problems, and leveraging SAP Business Objects to query data, and Excel to effectively and efficiently synthesize data
• Working to ensure the FIC team delivers a quality professional product within the established timeframe and with consistent procedures to maximize accuracy and minimize turn‑around time on both quick daily requests and complex long‑term analytical and technology projects
• Developing standard tools for reporting and analyzing data, and maintaining detailed records documenting procedures, methodologies, and sources of information employed during the performance of all analytical tasks
• Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that the firm retains
