CSX invites rising college seniors and graduate students to its 10-week Finance Internship at the CSX Headquarters in Jacksonville, FL. interns work in the Finance Department on real-world projects, gaining exposure to senior leadership and opportunities for future full-time consideration.

During the program, interns will build financial models, analyze performance, and participate in executive presentations.

Qualifications

• Be a rising senior or graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale.
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related majors.
• Be available to work up to 40 hours per week for the 10-week program.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects that support major business initiatives and influence decision-making.
• Develop and utilize financial models to quantify benefits and drive sound, fact-based economic decisions.
• Provide analytical support for operations reviews, resource allocations, and financial valuations.
• Guide the development of short- & long-term forecasts, plans, and strategies.
• Leverage data analytics, automation, BI, and AI-enabled tools to analyze performance and support decision-making.
• Cultivate relationships with internal business partners to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects and understand economic tradeoffs.
• Present analyses and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership at program end.

Throughout the program, interns will contribute to key business priorities and strategic initiatives across CSX while gaining exposure to senior and executive leadership. Interns will have the opportunity to showcase their work through a final presentation of findings and recommendations to executive leadership at the conclusion of the internship. High-performing interns may also be considered for future full-time opportunities with CSX upon graduation.

What You'll Experience

• 10-Week Summer Internship Program: May 24, 2027 - July 30, 2027
• Location: CSX Headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida (on-site)
• Housing Support: Eligible interns may receive complimentary housing for the duration of the program. Travel, transportation, and other personal expenses are not provided.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects that support major business initiatives and influence company decision-making
• Developing and utilizing financial models to quantify benefits and drive sound, fact-based economic decisions
• Providing analytical support for operations reviews, resource allocations, and financial valuations
• Guiding the development of short- & long-term forecasts, plans, and strategies
• Leveraging data analytics, automation, business intelligence, and AI-enabled tools to analyze business performance and support decision-makingCultivating relationships with internal business partners to analyze marketing, operating, and capital projects and understand economic tradeoffs to help make real-time business decisions
• Consulting and communicating analyses through presentations to senior management in the department and business partners from other departments
• Presenting project findings, recommendations, and key insights to executive leadership at the conclusion of the internship program

Minimum Qualifications

• Be a rising senior or graduate student enrolled in an accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale
• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in list majors. Preferred majors and areas of study: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution
• Be available to work up to 40 hours per week for the duration of the 10-week program
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Must be 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4-point scale)
• Graduate students actively pursuing a master's degree in a relevant field
• Previous internship, co-op, part-time, or relevant work experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience through student organizations, athletics, volunteer activities, or campus involvement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
