Job summary

Zurich North America in Schaumburg, IL offers a Finance Intern opportunity for Summer 2027. You will work with our Finance Business organization, under mentorship, contributing to real projects that enhance the efficiency of our financial processes.

Develop skills in SAP BPC, Business Objects, Excel, planning and forecasting, and gain insights into P&L and insurance operations while supporting various finance areas.

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Enrolled in Fall 2027 and rising Junior or Senior with ≥2 years of college coursework.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; legal to work in the U.S. indefinitely.

Responsibilities

  • Support cash management processes for Zurich North America.
  • Analyze data to provide valuable business insights for Finance.
  • Develop basic/intermediate SAP BPC and Business Objects queries.
  • Acquire advanced Excel skills and capabilities for data analysis.
  • Assist in expense management forecasts and plans.

The Role

As a Finance Intern at Zurich, you will be an integral part of our Finance Business organization. Under the guidance of experienced professionals and mentors, you will contribute to real projects and tasks that enhance the efficiency of our financial processes.

Depending on the specific internship placement, these positions will allow you to:

  • Provide support to specific areas within Finance, including Business Unit Finance, Expense Management, and Reinsurance.
  • Enhance the efficiency of Zurich North America's Value Management reporting processes.
  • Analyze complex data to provide valuable business insights.
  • Assist in expense analysis and support for the expense management team.
  • Contribute to data entry for expense management forecasts and plans.
  • Support cash management processes for Zurich North America.

During your internship, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Understand insurance Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and financial operations.
  • Gain insights into planning, forecasting, and project management activities.
  • Develop basic/intermediate skills in SAP BPC application and Business Objects queries.
  • Acquire advanced Excel skills and capabilities for data analysis.
  • Learn about international accounting standards and proper interaction with other departments.
  • Explore other functional areas within Zurich through day-to-day work.
  • Develop a deep understanding of insurance operations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program and will be enrolled in the Fall of 2027
  • Two or more years of college coursework (should be a rising Junior or Senior)
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Be legally eligible to work in the U.S indefinitely
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cumulative GPA at/above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Problem solving skills in customer focused environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. If your expectations are above the listed range, we still encourage you to apply-your unique background matters to us.

The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. For this position, the houlry rate is $22.00.
