Job summary

Woodward, Inc. in Fort Collins, CO invites students majoring in Finance or Accounting to join our internship program. The role provides exposure to FP&A, dashboards, and ERP projects, with real-world business acumen in Aerospace and Energy.

You will assist in annual operating plan cycles, month-end close, and cost-center reporting while gaining hands-on experience and potential full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Support FP&A during AOP cycles and month-end close.
• Update and improve financial reports and dashboards.
• Assist in cost center, profit center, and expense reporting improvements.
• Contribute to project work such as ERP implementation support.
• Handle journal entries, reconciliations, and SEC reporting prep.
• Analyze pricing and sourcing to identify savings and improvements.
• Support audit assignments and compliance documentation.

What you will be doing

• Support financial planning and analysis (FP&A) teams during annual operating plan (AOP) cycles and month-end close processes.
• Assist in updating and enhancing financial reports, dashboards, and resource planning strategies.
• Participate in cost center, profit center, and expense reporting improvements, including data validation and cleanup.
• Contribute to project-based work such as capital structure optimization, compliance initiatives, and ERP implementation support.
• Engage in financial accounting activities: journal entries, account reconciliations, and SEC reporting preparation.
• Analyze pricing, sourcing savings, and operational data to identify trends, support decision-making, and drive process improvements.
• Participate in audit assignments, compliance projects, and documentation efforts to support mandatory requirements and process clarity.

Education or Formal Training

Must be at least a sophomore in an accredited College or University program and have an acceptable grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Experience Required

No experience required. Previous internship or other working experience, a plus.
