Job summary

Scotts Miracle-GRO in Marysville, Ohio offers a Finance & Accounting Internship for the summer of 2027. Interns will rotate across key areas and gain hands-on experience in financial planning, reporting, and cross-functional partnering.

The program is hybrid with 2-3 days in the Marysville office, and interns will work closely with finance teams to develop skills in SAP, Excel and budgeting processes while contributing to real projects and stakeholder reports.

Responsibilities

• FP&A - Gain experience within SG&A financial analysis and corporate financial planning.
• Marketing/Brand Finance - Provide reporting on SBU and retailer performance; analyze product lines and build P&Ls.
• Supply Chain Finance - Support Manufacturing, Distribution, Procurement Ops and Inventory Management; analyze reports and assist with budget/forecast.
• Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting - Assist with SEC documents preparation and filing.
• Internal Audit - Assist with planning, performing and reporting on financial (SOX) audits.
• Tax / Treasury - Work with local/state reporting and treasury cash tracking.
• Orders to Cash - Validate customer orders and payments with retailers.

The hourly rate pay for this position at Scotts will generally fall between $19.00 - 23.00 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for Finance & Accounting Interns for the summer of 2027. Each Intern will work in one key area of the finance team below for the duration of the summer. The internship will be hybrid with 2-3 days in office in Marysville, Ohio (15-20 minutes north of the greater Columbus area).

Possible areas could include:

• Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - Gain experience within SG&A financial analysis and corporate financial planning. Tasks include updating investor consensus models, cost center reporting, budget/forecast consolidation, peer and competitor benchmarking, and executive management reporting.
• Marketing/Brand Finance - Finance partner to Brand Marketing teams. Provide reporting on respective SBU and retailer performance. Analyze product lines/SKUs, build P&Ls for existing portfolios and new product launches.
• Supply Chain Finance - Provide financial support for Manufacturing, Distribution, Procurement Operations and Inventory Management. Create, update, and analyze financial reports. Collaborate within the supply chain finance team to complete monthly close, special projects and support budget and forecast activities.
• Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting - Update policy, gather support, and organize/refine the workbooks that the reporting team uses to compose public documents. Interns in the executive financial reporting unit assist with the preparation and filing of all SEC Documents.
• Internal Audit - Assist the Internal Audit Team in planning, performing, and reporting on financial (SOX) and operational audits.
• Tax / Treasury - Work alongside the Income and Transaction tax teams with local / state reporting and work closely with our Treasury team to understand how cash is applied and used at a corporation.
• Orders to Cash - Work closely with the Orders to Cash department to understand / validate customer orders and payments with our largest retailers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of quantitative analytical skills, creativity and business acumen. In addition, he/she will have demonstrated initiative, time management skills, flexibility and the ability to interact effectively with multiple business partners & functions.
