Job summary

Emerson is seeking a motivated finance intern to join our global Professional Tools finance team. The role supports the Director FP&A in financial analysis, long-term planning, and performance reporting to drive data-based decisions across the organization.

You will assist with monthly reporting, long-range planning, and cross-departmental initiatives, gaining exposure to P&L, dashboards, and financial modeling within a renowned tools portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in finance or related field.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, with a clear passion for finance and readiness to learn from real-world work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting including P&L, variance analysis and other dashboards.
  • Assist in long term financial planning Profit Plan by gathering inputs, validating assumptions and updating financial models.
  • Support cross-departmental initiatives (pricing actions, cost-savings programs, headcount plans, etc.)
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

We are looking for a motivated finance intern to join our global Professional Tools finance team. The intern will work closely with the Director FP&A and global Professional Tools finance team to assist with financial analysis, long term planning and performance reporting to help drive data-based decision making across the organization.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Assist in preparing monthly reporting including P&L, variance analysis and other dashboards

  • Strong intellectual curiosity, with a clear passion for finance and readiness to learn from real-world work
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program in Finance or Accounting
  • 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Previous co-op/intern experience
