Job summary

Cox Automotive offers a Financial Analyst Intern role designed to provide hands-on experience in data-driven financial analysis and reporting. The intern will learn about Cox Automotive and NextGear Capital, gaining exposure to forecasting, KPI tracking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You’ll work with real data, receive mentorship, and develop skills in Excel, AI-assisted reporting, and financial modeling in a dynamic, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) is required and SQL is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with a natural curiosity for exploring data and trends.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize and analyze financial data to deliver clear, actionable insights.
• Support the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in building and maintaining financial forecasting models and tracking KPIs.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline reporting and surface insights faster.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and key internal stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Network with peers and professionals across the industry.
