Job summary

ThyssenKrupp Presta AG in Troy, MI is offering a Finance Internship within the North America Finance team. The role supports accounting, accounts payable, reporting, compliance, project controlling, treasury support, and SAP-related activities across the United States and international teams including Germany, Hungary, India and Mexico.

The internship lasts at least six months (nine months preferred) with an expected 30–40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration or has completed a related bachelor’s degree.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Eligible to work full time in the United States, without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support invoice processing, customer billing, receivables monitoring, payment follow-ups and collections.
• Prepare and post journal entries in SAP and review financial transactions with supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Track project costs, purchase orders, and commitments; prepare cost reports and project financial summaries.
• Support project financial reporting and documentation requirements; assist with treasury inquiries.

Our Automotive Body Solution business is a dedicated local line builder specializing in small-scale projects with a focus on precision and quality. Our expertise encompasses Brownfield Body-in-White (BIW) Automation Lines, offering comprehensive services from design and simulation to manufacturing, installation, and programming. Our capabilities extend to robot and PLC programming, virtual commissioning, and quality improvement, all managed through meticulous project oversight. In addition, we provide specialized labor, including hemming expertise in roller and table top hemming, as well as prototype equipment for BIW and forming dies. The Finance Intern will support the North America Finance team with accounting, accounts payable, reporting, compliance, project controlling, treasury support, and SAP-related activities. The role provides exposure to corporate finance operations and collaboration with teams across the United States, Germany, Hungary, India, and Mexico.

Internship Duration and Weekly Hours

The internship requires a minimum commitment of six months, with nine months preferred, and an expected schedule of approximately 30 to 40 hours per week, depending on the candidate’s availability and business needs.

Qualifications

• Prefer a candidate who is pursuing a master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, or have completed a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields.
• Would also consider a candidate who is pursing a Bachelor’s degree and has had previous internship experience.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across international teams.
• Prior exposure to SAP, ERP systems, accounts payable, project controlling, or financial analysis is preferred but not required.
• Eligible to work full time in the United States, without sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

• Support invoice processing, customer billing, receivables monitoring, payment follow-ups, and collection activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries in SAP and review financial transactions for accuracy and maintain supporting documentation for accounting entries.

• Support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Assist with tracking project costs, purchase orders, and commitments.
• Prepare cost reports, variance analyses, and project financial summaries.
• Support project financial reporting and documentation requirements.
• Assist with bank transaction research, reconciliations, and treasury inquiries.
• Collect and organize supporting documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
• Organize documentation related to customs duties, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain financial trackers, spreadsheets, and reporting databases.
• Support data extraction, validation, and analysis from SAP and other financial systems.
• Assist with ad hoc financial analyses and continuous process improvement initiatives.
