Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Finance Intern to gain hands-on experience with project teams during the summer of 2027. You will solve real problems, stay organized, and communicate across teams while laying the foundation for your career.

The program offers exposure to accounting, finance, dashboards, and financial reporting, with an hourly wage starting at $18. Visa sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Have previous internship experience preferred.
• Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior.
• Have a basic understanding of construction and generally accepted business practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teams during the summer internship (May–August 2027).
• Support project accounting, financial reporting, and dashboard development.
• Provide administrative and analytical support to the organization.
• Gain exposure to project profitability reporting and analysis on large construction projects.
• Partner with finance and business teams to improve processes and leverage AI for automation.
• Handle ad hoc requests from the team.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking dynamic and highly motivated individuals to join our team as Finance Interns to assisttheteams during the summer of 2027.

Highlights of your time with this Mortenson internship could include:

• Exposure to Project Accounting, Group Finance & Performance Analysis, Financial Reporting & Accounting, Finance Technology & Reporting

• Assistingtheteams with core finance and accounting tasks

• Supporting the development and/or enhancement of analysis, reports, and dashboards for our internal customers

• Providing administrative and analytical support to the broader organization

• Gaining exposure to project profitability reporting & analysis on large scale constructionprojects

• Performing various analyses that will give you exposure to general and construction industry financial concepts

• Partner with finance and business teams to improve processes, enhance financial reporting, and leverage AI for automation. Gain hands-on experience solving real business challenges and driving operational efficiencies.

• Supporting the team with ad hoc requests

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have previous related internship experience

• Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate junior

• Demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills and show initiative and leadership

• Showcase a positive and professional attitude and solid customer service skills

• Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively handle multiple competing priorities

The hourly wage for college Interns starts at $18. Students may be paid higher wages based on their year in school.
