Job summary

Grubb Properties in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Real Estate Finance Intern for an 8-week, in-office summer program. You will work with the Finance Team on loan sourcing, underwriting, closings, and financial analyses, gaining hands-on experience in real estate finance.

You will collaborate across departments, support asset valuations, and contribute to reporting and project execution while learning from seasoned professionals.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in finance, real estate, accounting, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing real estate loans for development, acquisition, refinancing, and more; assist in underwriting and negotiations.
• Assist in coordinating and executing loan closings.
• Analyze financial performance of real estate projects and help prepare financial statements and cash flow analyses.
• Gain exposure to commercial real estate appraisals and valuation techniques.
• Collaborate with the Finance Team to support dispositions and ensure accurate financial reporting.

What You'll Do:

1. Loan Sourcing: Learn the ropes of sourcing loans for real estate development, acquisition, refinancing, and more. Get hands-on experience in underwriting, deal negotiation, and the capital markets process.
2. Loan Closing: Assist in the coordination and execution of loan closings. Gain valuable exposure to the intricacies of closing real estate deals.
3. Financial Analysis: Sharpen your financial analysis skills by evaluating the performance of various real estate projects. Help prepare financial statements and cash flow analyses.
4. Asset Valuation: Get a behind-the-scenes look at commercial real estate appraisals and valuation techniques.
5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with our Finance Team to fulfill requests, support property dispositions, and ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements.

What We're Looking For:
