Job summary

Acuity Inc. in Atlanta, GA offers a 10-12 week internship (June - August, 40 hours/week) within the Finance and Accounting organization. You will own an intern project and help drive monthly reporting, forecasting, and financial analyses.

This program leads to BUILD, a full-time rotation for recent graduates; interns network with leaders and gain hands-on experience across FP&A, Accounting, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Tax.

The Acuity Inc. Internship Program offers a 10-12-week immersive experience (June - August, 40 hours/week) designed to cultivate high-potential candidates through hands-on projects and real-world experiences. Interns will align their strengths and interests with the strategic needs of the business.

In addition to contributing to impactful projects and transformative processes, interns will have the opportunity to network with leaders across Acuity Inc.

We prefer interns who have one or two semesters remaining in their degree program, as they will be eligible for our BUILD Program upon completing the internship. Our BUILD Program is a full-time, entry-level rotational program that allows recent graduates to explore various areas within a functional domain. These experiences enable young talent to expand their skill set, build their network within the company, and discover their passions early in their careers.

Work Flexibility

• The department is considered hybrid, but we ask that you be in the Atlanta, GA area for the position.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

This internship provides a comprehensive experience designed to expose you to key functions and processes across Acuity’s Finance and Accounting organization. You will drive both business and financial decisions through the ownership of an individual intern project.

During the internship you will be exposed to key processes including monthly reporting and close, financial analyses, annual forecasting and more. You will work closely with and be placed across our departments including FP&A, Accounting, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Tax.

Your intern projects will be tied to one of our departments and aligned with our key processes. Examples of previous projects include:

• Working with finance team to design and maintain financial models to drive action of business partners
• Working cross-functionally with Internal Audit team and IT partners on high-impact initiative to utilize key systems and drive risk-assessment analyses. This work laid the foundation for automation and future scalability, delivering lasting value and elevating the organization’s risk posture
• Analyzing working capital to drive forecasting inputs and drive business outcomes
• Spearheading the development of a dynamic financial model tailored for the CFO's strategic decision-making regarding corporate owned insurance policies

Along with the valuable knowledge gained within the internship, you will also participate in activities to enhance your business acumen and personal growth. Some of those activities include:

• A specialized onboarding to ensure integration into the organization
• Social and networking events to help forge connections with both peers and the broader Finance and Accounting organization
• Connections with senior leadership in Acuity’s headquarters in Atlanta, GA

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Qualified interns will have:

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree
• Relevant internship or project experience
• A minimum GPA of 3.0
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven problem-solving capabilities
• Strong time management and prioritization skills
• Experience leading teams or organizations
