Job summary

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Finance/Grants Specialist to support departments in financial and post-award grant administration. You will provide expert guidance, ensure compliance, and help departments navigate complex university processes.

After an initial onsite training period of up to six months, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule with 3-4 days per week on campus. Sponsorship will not be offered for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of related experience in financial management, accounting, grant administration.
• Experience working with SAP or another large integrated financial system.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of accounts and advise on financial management and compliance.
• Support budget analysis, prepare reports, and identify concerns.
• Provide guidance on university financial policies and sponsored programs.
• Review and coordinate complex financial activities like travel, contracts, journals, AR, assets.
• Prepare and review financial reports and resolve anomalies.
• Maintain records according to policy.
• Collaborate with university partners to deliver compliant services.
