Finance - Temporary, Full-Time, Non-Tenure Track Visiting Assistant Professor
Position Overview & Job Duties:
The Department of Finance (FIN) at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a visiting position in Finance at the Assistant level, beginning in August 2025. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. In Finance (FIN). ABDs will be considered but must provide strong evidence that the degree will be completed prior to August 2025.
Candidates are expected to have a balanced commitment towards teaching, research, and service. Teaching responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Finance courses. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching and/or industry experience in Insurance, Risk Management or Real Estate.
Visiting faculty are employed by the university to teach or perform research for a limited time. This is a non-tenure track, temporary position. Service or research may be expected. This position teaches and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook.

Experience Required:
Teaching, research, departmental/school and university service is expected. An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
Experience Preferred:
Demonstrated potential of high-quality teaching. Industry experience in Insurance or Real Estate is preferred but not required. Applicants with a Ph.D. or ABD in FIN from an AACSB school will have priority consideration.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to teach introductory and advanced classes in Finance, Insurance or Real Estate. Ability to actively engage students in learning activities.
