Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a seasoned finance leader to oversee the hotel’s financial operations in Chicago. The role reports to the Director of Finance and drives profitability through budgeting, forecasting, and accurate financial reporting.

You will coordinate with department heads, manage teams across AP, payroll, and general accounting, and ensure strong internal controls. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Five or more years of experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and the Uniform Standard of Accounts for the Lodging Industry.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
• Experience with PeopleSoft ERP, Opera, Micros, and Essbase is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Director of Finance and advise department heads on financial data interpretation.
• Direct and administer hotel financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and team management.
• Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and reporting for corporate and ownership as needed.
• Conduct month end closings and review financial statements with leadership.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting functions.
• Monitor internal controls over revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities.
• Coordinate with credit manager and assist audits and findings resolution.
• Coach and develop team members and manage performance.
• Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations; ensure documentation and resolution of items.
