Job summary

Veterinary United is seeking a Director of Finance to drive financial strategy, reporting, budgeting, and sustainable growth across its multi-entity veterinary practice group rooted in Michigan. The role partners with the CFO and executive leadership to deliver clear insights that guide capital allocation and operational decisions.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, strong FP&A and M&A experience, and a track record of building scalable finance infrastructure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics or a related field (required)
• Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred
• CPA, CFA, CMA, CFP, FRM or relevant professional certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee consolidated financial statements across practice entities.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with the Controller.
• Review intercompany reconciliations and consolidations for multi-entity setup.
• Ensure reporting adheres to US GAAP and provides clear executive commentary.
• Develop rolling forecasts and long-range financial models for strategic planning.
• Support acquisitions through due diligence and integration planning.
• Coordinate tax planning and compliance across multi-state operations.
