Job summary

The City of Delano is seeking an experienced Finance Director to serve as City Treasurer and head of the Finance Department. You will oversee payroll, budgeting, pension, accounting, purchasing, licensing and investments, guiding strategic financial planning for the City.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, public administration, business administration, city or a related field (required)
• CPA certificate desirable
• Masters degree preferred
• Maintains a valid California Driver License with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Manage the City’s finances and serve as City Treasurer.
• Develop and present annual operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee payroll, pension, accounting, billing, purchasing, licensing and investments.
• Coordinate audits and prepare CAFR and annual financial reports.
• Provide staff leadership and training for Finance Department personnel.
• Represent City interests in financial negotiations and contracts.
