Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in the Strike Division seeks a Director of Business Management 1 in Clearfield, UT or Palmdale, CA. This leadership role oversees Business Management activities for one or more operating units and portfolios, ensuring profitable contract execution and robust planning.

The role leads and develops other business managers, manages EAC and EVMS, and interfaces with program offices and executives on investments and strategic plans. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor's degree with required experience or a master's degree/PhD with relevant experience.
• Experience in Program Financial Planning & Control, US Government Contracts, or CAS/FAR/DFARs is preferred.
• Experience with Profit and Loss Management and presenting to leadership.
• Ability to obtain SAP and Secret clearances in a reasonable time.
• Travel up to 25% of the time is required.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Director Business Management 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Strike Division. This leadership role can be located in Clearfield, UT or Palmdale, CA

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems under the Strike Division, is currently seeking a Director of Business Management 1 supporting the Production Business Area . The selected candidate will lead and have accountability for all Business Management activities supporting one or more of our Operating Units (OU) and their portfolio of programs.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing other Business Managers and driving business results
• Developing, monitoring and maintaining Business Management processes, tools and procedures to manage contract business execution
• Accountable for the Estimate-at-Complete (EAC), contract profitability assessments/reviews, and application of the Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
• Leads the financial forecast process. Manages and presents financial results to senior and executive leadership -
• Act as the interface with the program office, Business Leadership, and Division team for discretionary investments, NCTA, and capital within portfolio
• Capture of new business. Engagement in Pre-RFP activities to contract award
• Manages preparation and review of annual operating plans (AOP) and long-range strategic plans (LRSP)
• Proactively works to identify risks and opportunities and implement mitigation or capture plans
• Coordinates activities between Contracts, Cost/Schedule, Finance, and Pricing functional groups
• Supports program/business rhythm (Program Management Meetings, Affordability, Risk Review, EAC Reviews)

Basic Required Requirements

• Must either have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 9 years Finance/Business Management work experience or a master' degree from an accredited university and 7 years Finance/Business Management work experience or a master' degree from an accredited university or a PhD from an accredited university an 5 years Finance/Business Management work experience or a master' degree from an accredited university
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Program Financial Planning & Control, US Government Contracts, or Government Cost Accounting Standards
• Experience with Profit and Loss Management
• Experience supporting Manufacturing
• Experience developing and presenting business strategies, financial information, and risk assessments to leadership teams
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
• The ability to travel 25+% of the time

Preferred Requirements

• Management of teams and leader-of-leaders experience
• Demonstrated success in developing and leading functional and cross functional teams
• Experience with managing discretionary investments
• Earned Value Management Experience
• Experience supporting compliance with SOX, Internal / External Audit activities; CAS, FAR, DFARs requirements a plus, and Company policies and procedures

Primary Level Salary Range: $185,400.00 - $278,200.00
