Job summary

PowerGrid Services seeks a Finance Analyst focused on data extraction, governance, and foundational finance knowledge to support finance and operations by gathering, validating, and maintaining reliable data used for reporting and decision-making.

You will work with multiple systems, review data for accuracy, reconcile source data to reporting outputs, and help maintain clean datasets. Basic accounting concepts and financial reporting structures form the backdrop for your daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Basic finance or accounting knowledge.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data validation.
• Exposure to SQL, Power BI, ERP systems, or reporting platforms is preferred.
• Experience working with structured financial or operational data.
• Preferred experience in power companies, utilities, transmission, distribution, substations, energy infrastructure, or related field-services environments.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to work with confidential financial and operational information.

Responsibilities

• Extract, clean, and organize data from ERP, finance, operational, and reporting systems.
• Validate data accuracy and completeness before it is used in reports, dashboards, or analysis.
• Reconcile data between source systems and official reporting outputs to identify gaps, timing differences, or inconsistencies.
• Support data governance practices, including documentation, standard definitions, validation checks, and consistent reporting logic.
• Maintain organized files, data logs, templates, and supporting documentation.
• Assist in identifying process improvements related to data collection, reporting, and data quality.
• Apply basic finance and accounting knowledge when reviewing financial and operational datasets.
• Communicate clearly with finance, operations, project, and reporting teams to resolve data questions.
