Job summary

Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Controller to lead budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting. This role oversees accounting records and ensures timely financial statements, while supervising the accounting team and maintaining procedures.

The Controller will coordinate audits, manage Form 1042 filings, and provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related nonprofit experience.
• Experience with Blackbaud NXT is a plus.
• Ability to manage confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Oversees payroll processing and related reporting.
• Manages the annual budget and ongoing forecasting activities.
• Develops and presents timely financial reports and forecasts.
• Responds to inquiries from the Executive Director and Board.
