Job summary

Knowles Corporation seeks a Controller to oversee all accounting functions including AR, AP, cost accounting, fixed assets, general ledger, payroll and cash management for KCR and KCD locations. You will drive budgeting, quarterly forecasting and monthly results with variance analysis, partnering with Plant Operations to optimize cost and throughput.

The role requires 5–8 years in senior accounting, a manufacturing background, and eligibility to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Five to eight years’ experience in a senior accounting or financial analyst capacity and must have a demonstrated history of performing the responsibilities listed below.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment required, electronic components preferred
• All applicants must be eligible to work in the US without restriction to ITAR documentation and materials. Must be a US citizen, legal permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets for income statement and balance sheet.
• Produce quarterly forecasts and monthly actuals with variance explanations.
• Collaborate with Plant Management to control expenses and implement improvements.
• Track cost savings and value creation projects.
• Partner with Plant Operations for transparency with business managers.
• Support product costing valuations with Operations.
• Monitor Working Capital and drive improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a robust control environment with timely reconciliations.
• Manage internal and external audits and government audits.
• Ensure compliance with company, accounting, and regulatory standards.
• Oversee Tax reporting.
• Manage finance staff at NJ and Dominican Republic locations; travel may be required.

Job Overview

The Controller is responsible for all accounting functions including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Payroll and Cash Management for KCR and KCD.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive timely, accurate and complete submission of all financial data including annual budgeting of income statement and balance sheet, quarterly forecasting and monthly actual financials; understanding and explaining variances in actual performance to budgets and forecast to all levels of Management as well as advising on actions to achieve improved results.
• Work with Plant Management teams to monitor and control expenses, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as required.
• Track, validate and report cost savings and value creation projects to drive continuous cost improvements.
• Business partner with Plant Operations teams to ensure transparency with key business managers in a continuously changing business environment.
• Work closely with Operations on product costing valuations ensuring they have the necessary information to make the appropriate decision to ensure successful growth.
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling Working Capital as well as identifying and implementing initiatives for improvement.
• Maintain a control environment which functions with no surprises. Ensure timely and accurate completion of account reconciliations.
• Manage all Financial and Sox audits performed by internal and external auditors as well as Government Agencies.
• Ensure compliance with all Company, Accounting and Government Standards, Policies and Regulations.
• Responsible for various Tax reporting.
• Manage professionals engaged in Financial/Accounting activities at the New Jersey and Dominican Republic locations. Travel required may be required (Conducts other duties as needed.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred

• A strong background in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment with two years of experience as a Plant Controller.
• CPA, CMA and/or MBA as well as Oracle experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• The Finance Manager / Controller manages a small local finance staff.
