Our company thrives on strong systems, sharp people, and solid values—and now, we’re looking for an exceptional Finance Controller (Remote) to join our team!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle, leading strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations. In addition to preparing accurate financial statements and analyzing key financial metrics, the Controller is expected to manage day-to-day financial operations, including reconciliations, bookkeeping, and cash flow monitoring. Success in this position requires both high-level financial acumen and a willingness to execute tactical tasks directly. Strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to solve problems independently and proactively are essential.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Entity Management:
    • Oversee financial operations and reporting for multiple US-based entities.
  • Financial Forecasting & Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and maintain corporate forecasts to support financial goals, budget preparation, and business planning.
    • Oversee budgeting and cash flow processes to ensure financial stability while executing aligned strategic and operational goals.
    • Monitor and reconcile company spending regularly, ensuring financial hygiene and accountability across all expense categories.
  • Analyzing financial data, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, and profitability metrics.
  • Full Accounting Cycle Management:
    • Handle all aspects of the accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and transaction processing, ensuring accuracy in financial statement preparation.
    • Personally manage general ledger entries and monthly close processes. No task is too small or beneath you.
    • Perform or oversee routine bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and reconciliation of credit card and expense accounts.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensuring adherence to U.S. regulatory requirements and accounting principles.
    • Prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Work closely with the CEO, COO, and external CPAs to ensure financial accuracy, tax compliance, and timely reporting. Be ready to dive into tactical execution when needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller, Finance Director, or similar roles.
  • Bachelor degree holder in Accountancy, Finance Management or related field.
  • Hands-on experience managing the full accounting process from transaction-level entry to board-level reporting.
  • Willingness and proven ability to manage both high-level financial strategy and day-to-day operational accounting.
  • Accounting licenses or certifications, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks or similar accounting tools.
  • Must be Quickbooks certified.
  • Advanced Excel skills for complex financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and full accountability for financial accuracy at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address challenges independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience managing multi-entity structures and US-based businesses..
  • Experience in the Amazon industry, a fast-paced, lean startup or agency environment where you’ve worn multiple hats.
  • Willingness to operate as a “player-coach” — leading while doing.
  • Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., Google Studio, Power BI, Tableau) to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Start-up Company/Growth Mindset: Be a self-starter, identifying areas for financial improvement, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance.
