Finance Consultant (Part-Time Higher Education)

We are seeking experienced Higher Education Finance professionals or consultants with expertise in Ellucian Banner or Ellucian Colleague. This part-time role involves working closely with college and university finance teams to implement, optimize, and support the Finance modules of either Banner or Colleague.

This is a remote, project-based position with hours fluctuating based on client needs. Consultants must be available during normal U.S. business hours to collaborate with clients across different time zones. Occasional travel to client sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide functional consulting, training, and support for Ellucian Banner or Colleague Finance modules.
• Analyze and optimize business processes related to general accounting, budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
• Configure and test ERP systems to meet institutional requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand challenges, define goals, and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
• Leverage ERP tools to enhance and automate financial processes within higher education institutions.
• Troubleshoot functional and technical issues and assist in maintaining data integrity.
• Provide end-user training, documentation, and support for software usage and upgrades.
• Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure timely project delivery.
• Stay current on trends in higher education finance and ERP solutions, sharing recommendations with clients.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in the Higher Education industry, preferably in a Finance leadership role.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ellucian Banner or Colleague, including Finance module configuration and support.
• Proven experience with implementation, optimization, and user support for higher education financial systems.
• Strong understanding of financial operations in higher education, including accounting, budgeting, and procurement.
• Ability to improve business processes and drive operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
• Ability to troubleshoot system and functional issues and liaise with technical support.
• Availability during standard U.S. business hours and flexibility based on project needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing project-based consulting engagements.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related fields.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site client work.

Pay Transparency:

• The hourly rate ranges from $45 to $63.
