Job summary

Moody’s invites a finance professional to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team as a Finance Business Partner. You will provide independent financial ownership and decision support for the Ratings Technology and Cyber Security groups within Shared Services, aligning budgets with strategic priorities and enabling informed decisions.

You will forecast, model, and analyze investments in technology, cloud initiatives, and AI-enabled projects, communicating insights to executives using Power BI

Qualifications

  • 6-9 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, corporate finance, or related financial analysis roles, ideally supporting technology, cybersecurity, shared services, cloud, AI, or digital transformation organizations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with a proven ability to independently design, build, validate, and maintain robust financial models with limited supervision
  • Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, scenario planning, and investment analysis skills, with the ability to translate stakeholder and corporate planning targets into clear assumptions, risks, and recommendations
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and the financial impacts of technology investments, operating expenses, capitalization, headcount, contractor spend, and enterprise initiatives
  • Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, including Power BI, and the ability to interpret dashboards and use them to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop executive-ready materials, influence decision-making, challenge assumptions constructively, and build strong partnerships across all levels of the organization
  • Highly proactive and results-oriented professional with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities independently, and exercise sound judgment when escalating risks, issues, or key decisions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI-enabled tools to streamline workflows, enhance reporting, and improve decision support while maintaining responsible AI practices

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Finance Business Partner supporting the Ratings Technology organization and the Cyber Security organization within Shared Services, providing independent financial ownership, decision support, and operational follow-through.
  • Partner with Ratings Technology and Cyber Security leaders to align financial planning, resource allocation, investment priorities, and business outcomes
  • Support monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning in partnership with business stakeholders and the central Financial Planning and Analysis team, including maintaining accurate and current data packs
  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses that translate business assumptions, strategic initiatives, efficiency commitments, investment requirements, and corporate planning targets into actionable recommendations
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting on operating expenses, investments, contractor spend, headcount, and organizational changes to support business decision-making
  • Partner with Accounting and business stakeholders to support accurate financial treatment and reporting of capitalizable projects, resource plans, and other significant investments
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets, forecasts, efficiency commitments, and investment objectives; proactively identify risks, opportunities, and corrective actions
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reporting, and business cases for leadership reviews, planning discussions, and key decision-making forums, leveraging Power BI and other reporting tools to communicate financial and operational insights
  • Drive continuous improvement through process simplification, automation, standardization, and adoption of new technologies, while independently managing priorities, resolving issues, and supporting the implementation of enhanced finance reporting capabilities

About The Team

Our Financial Planning & Analysis team is responsible for providing strategic financial planning, forecasting, investment governance, and decision support for Technology organizations across Moody’s.

We contribute to Moody’s by partnering with business leaders on resource allocation and investment priorities, delivering financial insights that support informed decision-making, and providing oversight of technology, cloud, and consumption-based costs.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $113,200.00 - $164,050.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
