A leading company in the gaming industry seeks a Financial and Business Analyst to support the Minecraft Business Team. This role focuses on developing pricing strategies, performing financial analysis, and delivering insights that directly affect company revenue and the success of the franchise. • Key projects: This role will contribute to implement pricing strategy depending on location. This role will heavily support this project and be able to analyze and provide suggestions and insights. Contractor will be getting acclimated on budget pricing, tracking.

Candidate Requirements
• Years of Experience Required: 3 overall years of experience in the field.
• Degrees or certifications required: Bachelors degree in Business Admin or Finance required to be eligible for this role.
• Disqualifiers: This role is not for a data scientist – candidates need to have a financial background, and be very comfortable putting together clean powerpoint presentations and share that information with stakeholders, however overly technical candidates will not be a great fit for the position.
• Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain:
- financial modelling and analysis skills
- Strong data presentation skills and ability to make good charts
- Clear demonstration of strong analytics skill within Excel and PowerBI
- Strong familiarity with pricing and pricing strategy is a HUGE plus.
- Excellent communication written and verbal.
- Great attention to detail.
• Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and quality/accuracy of work, and the ability to communicate well and ask questions when unsure or require help.

Mojang Studios is looking for a Financial and Business Analyst to support the Minecraft Business Team, focusing on pricing strategy and financial analysis. As a Business Analyst on the Minecraft team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage pricing strategy, analyze foreign exchange impacts, and produce detailed financial reports. By ensuring accurate and insightful pricing data, you’ll drive strategic decisions that will help shape the future of the Minecraft franchise.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain pricing matrixes across various products and platforms
• Analyze and report on foreign exchange rate movements and their impact on revenue
• Manage the implementation of pricing strategy changes across Console, Mobile, PC for game and post-sale monetization SKUs
• Conduct analysis to assess the impact of price tests and recommend strategic adjustments
• Prepare detailed reports on geographic financial/unit performance, including ad hoc and monthly updates
• Audit current pricing structures and recommend improvements to optimize revenue and profitability
• Document and improve existing and new business operations processes for accuracy and efficiency
• Support the business operations team with ad hoc performance reporting as needed
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in business analysis, pricing, or financial operations
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in financial modeling and pricing strategy
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or other relevant software
• Familiarity with foreign exchange impacts and revenue reporting across multiple geographies
• High attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to convey complex information clearly
