Job summary

BDO USA, LLP in Chicago seeks a Senior Finance BI Developer to design and support reporting, analytics, and automation within the Finance department. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable semantic models, reports, SQL queries, Power Query transformations, and Power Automate workflows.

You will apply Power BI, SQL, M code, data modeling, and visualization best practices while guiding teammates and upholding governance and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 5+ years in Data Analytics, BI or app development.
• Experience with Finance data is preferred.
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and Power BI skills.
• Experience building Power Automate workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and support Power BI reports and semantic models.
• Create DAX measures and optimize report performance.
• Build SQL queries, views, and data extraction logic.
• Transform and cleanse data with Power Query and M code.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain governance, standards, and documentation for BI assets.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to reusable components.
• Troubleshoot data issues, security access, and refresh failures.
• Design and support Power Automate workflows for reporting processes.
