Job summary

Nevada Humane Society is seeking a Finance Associate at the Reno Campus to support the finance department with accounts payable, reporting, and donor-restricted recording. Under the CFO, you will help ensure accurate financial operations that sustain NHS programs and lifesaving work.

The role emphasizes administrative finance tasks, reconciliation, and collaboration with philanthropy and program teams to resolve discrepancies and maintain strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounts payable, bookkeeping, or finance administration.
• Experience entering invoices and processing financial transactions.
• Experience maintaining financial records with accuracy and supporting documentation.
• Experience preparing financial reports and transaction summaries.
• Experience handling cash, deposits, and POS reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices, reimbursements, vendor payments and donations; maintain records in the accounting system.
• Record cash, checks, and card receipts with proper coding.
• Prepare and verify bank deposits and timely deposits.
• Coordinate with Philanthropy to record contributions and donor restrictions.
• Reconcile credit card statements and balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.
• Support month-end close and regulatory documentation; assist with audits.
• Assist payroll administration and related expense reports.
