Job summary

Encompass Onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Finance Associate to join onsite. You will report to the Controller and support the full finance, accounting, and payroll functions, helping automate processes and expand the use of AI.

The role supports a scalable internal control environment with responsibilities across GL month-end, billing, AR/AP, reporting, and payroll. A degree in accounting or finance is preferred, with 2–5 years’ finance experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries as directed by the Controller.
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular basis, month-end included.
• Assist with invoicing, billing entries, AR month-end activities, and worktickets.
• Produce recurring weekly operational reports and support FP&A analyses.
• Support payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Identify opportunities to automate or AI-enable recurring finance workflows.

Finance Associate

Full Time Clerical FL-Fort Lauderdale, Fort Lauderdale, FL, US

Salary: $65,000.00 Annually

About the Role -This Position is Onsite

The Finance Associate will report directly to the Controller and work across the full finance, accounting, and payroll function, providing support and creating bandwidth for team members while enhancing segregation of duties and building redundancy. Importantly, this person will also help champion the Finance Department's use of automation and AI.

The net impact will be a more sustainable and, very importantly, scalable function that operates efficiently within a best-in-class internal control environment

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities below reflect the range of work associated with this function. No single hire is expected to cover all of them, and additional responsibilities not yet identified may be added over time. While many will be expected to be covered, the specific mix assigned will depend on the experience, references, and qualifications of the individual.

General Ledger & Month-End Close In support of David

• Prepare and post journal entries as directed by the Controller
• Perform account reconciliations on a regular and month-end basis
• Perform corporate card (AMEX) general ledger entry and job coding

Billing & Accounts Receivable In support of Nadia

• Assist with complex monthly invoices and billing entries, including construction billing
• Support AR month-end billing activities and the workticket export/import process

Accounts Payable & Worktickets In support of Jose

• Process non-Coupa accounts payable
• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with fielding vendor inquiries
• Process export and import of worktickets, including reconciliations and investigations

Reporting & Analytics In support of FP&A

• Produce recurring weekly operational reports for the Operations team
• Assist with data-heavy analytical projects and large dataset downloads

Payroll & Benefits In support of Evelyn

• Support payroll processing and benefit administration

General

• Identify and help implement opportunities to automate or AI-enable recurring finance workflows
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)

These are the initial screening criteria for the role:

• Relevant experience:2–5 years as an external or internal auditor, or as a member of a finance/accounting team or department. Candidates must have worked within a finance or accounting function at some point in their background, with exposure to financial reporting, financial controls, and financial processes.
• AI-forward mentality:Strong aptitude for and comfort with leveraging AI and technology in day-to-day work, and with expanding its use into workstreams and tasks. Prior hands-on AI experience is not required.
