Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Finance Associate to manage the non-grant account portfolio in collaboration with the Finance Team.

This role focuses on high-volume monthly billing, self-supporting fund activities, and related financial transactions, requiring accuracy, compliance with university policies, and effective communication with stakeholders across the institute and campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or business management or a business field related to the position.
• Two years of professional business, financial and/or managerial work experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monthly internal billing process for accuracy, compliance and timeliness.
• Review and approve use of assigned non-grant funds for expenses and ensure compliance with policies across platforms.
• Respond to Finance inbox inquiries related to procurement, CFOP management, reimbursements, accounts payable/receivable and general financial operations.
• Prepare simple rate calculations under the guidance of the Finance Coordinator and apply Cost Accounting principles.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of assigned financial statements and resolve errors.
• Prepare and process journal vouchers and transactions in the BANNER system as needed.
• Provide backup support to team members to ensure continuity of operations.
• Participate in professional development to improve knowledge and judgment.
