Job summary

Rakuten Travel in Hawaii is seeking a proactive finance professional to support local market initiatives and oversee financial operations for the Hawaii arm of the travel brand.

You will manage bank reconciliations, AR/AP, invoicing, monthly close, tax filings, and coordinate with accounting firms. Fluency in English and native-level Japanese, plus hospitality experience, are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Business-level English and native-level Japanese proficiency.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States (Hawaii).
• Minimum of 3 years' working in hospitality or related.

• Manage cash and various payment methods (checks, credit cards).
• Accounts Receivable (AR) & Accounts Payable (AP): perform sales reconciliation and debt collection.
• Process invoices, manage payables, register vendors, and execute payments.
• Assist with monthly closing and consolidated financial reporting.
• Prepare documents for tax filings and coordinate with accounting firms.
• Support audit processes and government inquiries.
• Handle internal inquiries and ad-hoc financial issues.

Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Hawaii).

Business-level English and Native-level Japanese proficiency.

English Requirements: Please meet one of the following criteria:

• Citizenship of an English-speaking country.
• Holder of a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree from a university in an English-speaking country.
• TOEIC score of 800 or higher.
• TOEFL iBT score of 110 or higher.
• IELTS score of 7.0 or higher.

Minimum of 3 years' working in hospitality or related.

Experience working in a dynamic and multi-cultural environment with a track record of strong results.

Proven track record of self-motivated performance and perseverance in travel or related industry.

Able to work with minimal guidance and drive partnership opportunities forward.

Strong attention to detail and have the ability to see the end game of each business opportunity.
