Lumen is looking for top-tier talent and offers the flexibility you need to thrive and deliver lasting impact.

Program Overview

Embed yourself at the intersection of finance and technology as an Analyst in Lumen’s Finance & Accounting Rotational (FAR) Program. This early-career role is designed for recent graduates who want a comprehensive understanding of corporate finance and accounting. Through a structured two-year rotation, analysts gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment where artificial intelligence is transforming the future of finance. The FAR program exposes participants to real-world use cases where generative AI drives smarter decision-making, accelerates reporting, and delivers predictive insights.

Program Structure

FAR is a two-year leadership development program designed to accelerate your career. It consists of four, six-month rotational assignments across the Finance organization, providing learning, experience and a broad professional network. In addition to rotations, FAR participants participate in mentorship programs and supplemental professional development activities, including classroom learning and executive seminars to cultivate leadership, business acumen, and technical skills.

Rotational assignments may include:

  • Accounting
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
  • Internal Audit
  • Investor Relations
  • Procurement & Supply Chain Analytics
  • Real Estate
  • Tax
  • Treasury / Corp Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Explore the Full Finance Ecosystem – Embark on rotations across core Finance & Accounting functions—FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, Treasury, and Tax. Each rotation offers a unique lens into how strategic financial decisions shape the business.
  • Drive Innovation with AI-Powered Finance – Work on projects that harness AI to enhance decision-making, automate reporting, and deliver predictive insights that influence strategy.
  • Master the Fundamentals with a Strategic Edge – Learn budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis while collaborating with experienced professionals. Your work informs leadership decisions and business outcomes.
  • Own the Close Process – Participate in month-end and quarter-end close activities, reconcile accounts, prepare journal entries, and support the creation of accurate financial statements.
  • Be a Change Agent – Identify inefficiencies and help design smarter, faster workflows to boost productivity across the organization.
  • Build Models That Matter – Analyze complex financial data, develop robust models, and contribute to strategic planning using advanced tools and quantitative techniques.
  • Collaborate Across Functions – Work with cross-functional teams including Finance, Data, and AI on special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc analyses with real impact.
  • Champion Compliance & Integrity – Ensure financial operations align with internal controls, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Tell the Story Behind the Numbers – Support executive-level reports and presentations. Use data to uncover trends, assess risks, and highlight opportunities for growth.
  • Grow as a Leader – Develop through mentorship, hands-on training, and networking with senior leaders. This program is a launchpad for a career in finance.
