Job summary

Freudenberg Performance Materials LP in Durham, NC is seeking a Finance/Accounting Intern to support internal control assessments and audits. You will analyze control processes, update documentation, and collaborate with the finance team on improvement initiatives, with a focus on automation opportunities.

The role requires pursuing a Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration degree, and strong Excel skills; Power BI experience is preferred. This opportunity is on-site in Durham, NC.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
• Rising junior or senior who has completed core coursework in their major.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Power BI preferred.
• Exposure to process automation, data analytics, or other BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support internal control assessments, audit activities, and process documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze and test existing control processes and procedures, updating documentation as needed to improve effectiveness.
• Assist with audits of control effectiveness and evaluate progress made to address identified control deficiencies and risks.
• Collaborate with the Finance and Accounting team on process improvement initiatives, project support, and documentation efforts.
• Identify and support automation opportunities while providing input for future internal control assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
