Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA, is offering a Summer 2027 Finance & Accounting internship within the Accounting Service Center. The intern will rotate through AR/Billings, Accounts Payables, Travel Expense processing, General Ledger, and payroll over approximately two weeks per function.

The position requires an undergrad in Finance or related field, strong communication, MS Office skills, and U.S. citizenship. Onsite work and potential DOE security clearance considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program with a focus on Finance or another relevant field.
• Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple tasks successfully.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong skills with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide SAP transactions and expense reporting data for inclusion in AR billings.
• Assist with reviewing employee expense reports.
• Assist with scanning in general ledger transactions.
• Assist with filing and scanning for payroll.
• Support team members with daily operational tasks in their respective function.
• Work as a team member in meeting the needs of the office staff, leaders, and customers.
• Evaluate current systems and procedures and make process improvement suggestions, including the use of AI.
